At a January 28 ribbon-cutting, Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, a Chelsea-based clinic that serves the LGBT and HIV/ AIDS communities, opened an in-house pharmacy that, in the words of Wendy Stark, its executive director, will enhance “our primary care facility as well as offer a more convenient and less expensive option for our patients.”
Uninsured patients with incomes less than 200 percent of the federal poverty level will be eligible for additional discounts.
On hand were State Assemblymembers Deborah Glick and Dick Gottfried, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, and Councilmen Jimmy Van Bramer and Danny Dromm.
State Senator Tom Duane and Van Bramer are seen on a facilities tour.
