Musical Variations

Abraham Gomez-Delgado’s musical collective Zemog is a celebration of the marriage between Latino and American music, language, and culture. Inspired by such disparate musical influences as Dizzy Gillespie and Eddie Palmieri. The music incorporates Puerto Rican, Cuban, Peruvian, and American jazz traditions and echoes of Santana, new wave, hip-hop, heavy metal, and Huun-Hur-Tu Tuvan throat singing. 9 p.m. at the BAM Café, 30 Lafayette Ave., Brooklyn. Young Prodigies

Young dance students will present a workshop concert which will represent a culmination of their years work. The Sista Factory Ensemble will feature funk songstress Martha Redbone. The Newark Pride Alliance and the LGBT community of Newark invite all high seniors and interested adults, especially those who did not attend their high school prom, to come and celebrate being out and proud at this year’s gala prom.  Dance the night away with gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people and their families and friends. There will be a buffet dinner, dancing and entertainment provided by the house ball community.
