7 Days in Dance
Now Showing:
Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company In a return appearance to Lincoln Center Festival, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company will give the New York premiere of Jones’ “Blind Date,” a theatrical integration of live music, constantly changing juxtapositions of dance styles, and a range of text (poetry, personal memories, Biblical readings) enhanced and reinforced by video and visual imagery. Blind Date—like much of Jones’ work—can be read on many levels: storytelling, visual design, and discourse. The work is Jones’ impassioned response to the issues of our time, and it asks the audience to ponder important questions. What does patriotism mean in an increasingly dangerous world? What do we believe? What would we die for? What is honorable, courageous, or patriotic? What makes us free? LaGuardia Concert Hall, Amsterdam Avenue at 65th St. Jul. 20 at 8 p.m. $50 at 212-721-6500 or lincolncenter.org.
