Nominations are now open for this year’s Gay City News Impact Awards gala, presented by Bethpage Federal Credit Union. The Impact Awards will take place November 8.

The awards ceremony  — now in its eighth year — honors those who have made a positive impact on the LGBTQ community in New York City and beyond. This year’s event will be held at Terrace on The Park in Queens.

Individuals will be honored from a range of backgrounds, from healthcare to politics to entertainment to activism. Both members of the LGBTQ community and allies will be honored.

Past honorees include Dr. Jess Ting, who heads Mount Sinai’s Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery; Elisa Crespo, the executive director of the LGBTQ statewide advocacy group New Pride Agenda; Immigration Equality executive director Aaron Morris; the late marriage equality champion Edie Windsor; and many others.

The event will have a VIP honoree networking hour along with the presentation of awards and a raffle with prizes.

Anyone interested in sponsoring the event or nominating potential honorees can contact Amanda Tarley by email at Amanda@gaycitynews.com or by phone at 718-249-9640.
