Governor, Legislature have put syringe exchange programs on the fast track in Trenton

In a concerted effort to curb the sharing of needles by injecting drug users, a practice that is driving new HIV infections in New Jersey, state officials are close to an agreement that will increase access to sterile syringes. The state Assembly will hold hearings on these bills next Monday.
