The LGBT Community Center held its 21st Annual Garden Party on a beautiful summer solstice evening in the West Village Monday.
Richard Burns, who has served as executive director of the Center since 1986, called it “the best party ever.”
The Center’s new director of public policy, Miriam Yeung, was introduced and said, “Nothing says more about you as a person than where you put your body,” and asked, “Where will you put your body this year?,” inviting the crowd to consider the myriad issues confronting us from the elections to economic justice.
“We have the right to live as our highest, sexiest, and most complete selves,” Yeung said.
