Paul Mart, Gay Games Co-Founder, Dies at 100

Paul Mart, who with Tom Waddell and Mark Brown organized the first Gay Games in 1982, died on October 18 in Palm Springs. He was 100 years old.

Mart served in World War II as an undercover agent, worked as a stunt man in Hollywood, rode in rodeos, and traveled the world to promote the Gay Games. He also handled the horses in the big battle scene in the movie “Doctor Zhivago.”
