Michael Bloomberg, positioning himself for a run for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020, has enrolled as a Democrat again after having won the New York City mayoralty three times running on the Republican line.
Once the largest donor to the Republican Party in the country, Bloomberg pledged $100 million to elect Democrats to Congress this fall, but Sludge reports that his contributions have fallen woefully short of that.
What’s more, he has endorsed and is funding vulnerable Long Island Republican Representative Peter King.
