The documentary “Heightened Scrutiny,” which follows out trans ACLU attorney Chase Strangio in his efforts to fight Tennessee’s 2023 ban on gender-affirming care for youth, had its New York premiere during the recent Newfest Pride film festival.

The in-person premiere, which took place May 30, featured a Q&A with Strangio along with other individuals who were in the documentary, including Laverne Cox and Miss Peppermint.

The Tennessee law has since reached the Supreme Court, which is expected to issue a decision on the case this month.
