GOODBYE, AND GOOD RIDDANCE!
December 29, 2011
To the Editor:
This screed is as old as the woods (“As For Chelsea, Goodbye to All That,” by Michael Carosone and Joseph LoGiudice, Nov. 9-22). New York City has never been static nor settled in its entire history. Chelsea belongs to white gay male clones as much as to the factory workers of yore that came before them. This article is a collection of antique clichés. Has being gay in New York become this static? Glad I left!
I was an out gay male resident of Chelsea from 1979-86. As far as being called names, please! These two belong in a gated community where they can be safe from the real world, not in a transient, energy-filled city.
