Gad Beck came to New York City twice (“Gad Beck, the Last Gay Holocaust Survivor, is Dead,” by Benjamin Weinthal, Jul. 4-17). He spoke at Congregation Beit Simchat Torah in 1999 about his book.
He had earlier joined CBST on their float in the 1997 Pride Parade, an event I memorialized at http://infotrue.com/beck.html. During that visit, he was also the keynote speaker at a CBST event held at NYU's Loeb Student Center for Pride Shabbat.
He was a great little man.
