PHOTO ESSAY BY DONNA ACETO | At a June 19 Pride celebration at Macy’s in Herald Square, City Comptroller Scott Stringer honored the cast of “Queer Eye,” Gay Men’s Health Crisis, William Hawthorne, the vice president of diversity and legal affairs at Macy’s, and the late Adelaide Connaughton, a former Fire Department EMS veteran who had worked in recent years with former inmates at the Fortune Society and died on May 12.
Connaughton’s honor was accepted by her partner of 30 years, Lynn Schulman.
GMHC CEO Kelsey Louie accepted the award on behalf of that organization.
